The Exquisite Body: a two-part weekend workshop exploring where ancient practice meets modern movement science.
Through yoga, somatic movement, breath, functional anatomy, nervous system education, and embodied practice, Lauren Duke and Gina Zimmerman will help you understand the body from the inside out. These workshops are designed to make complex information accessible, practical, and deeply experiential. You will learn how movement influences your nervous system, how your physical patterns are connected to your emotional and psychological life, and how greater bodily awareness can create more choice, adaptability, and freedom.

Yoga + The Psychology Of The Body
Our bodies are shaped by everything we have lived through.
This workshop explores where yoga tradition intersects with our psychological and physiological organization. The practices of yoga have long understood what modern science continues to reveal: the body and mind are not separate. Our internal state shapes how we breathe, move, think, feel, behave, and relate to the world around us.
Through accessible body-mind education, yoga, somatic movement, breath, and contemplative practice, we will learn to recognize our patterns as intelligent adaptations rather than problems to override. By understanding how the body-mind system works, we can listen more closely to its cues and create greater room for awareness, agency, and choice.
Sunday, September 20
Psoas: The Secret Sauce
The psoas is far more than a muscle. It is a deep, bio-intelligent messenger that reflects how we orient, organize, and respond to the world around us. The psoas can be understood as a bridge between our physical structure, nervous system, emotional life, and deeper sense of self.
Connected to the diaphragm, pelvis, spine, organs, and fascia, the psoas lives at the intersection of breath, movement, instinct, and internal state. Its patterns may reveal where we feel supported, where we brace for protection, and how safely we inhabit our bodies.
You will leave this workshop with a deeper understanding of this powerful center of the body and practical tools for cultivating greater support, mobility, ease, and connection to your own inner knowing.
